Terms of Service
Last updated: January 2026
By engaging OptiForge Web Studios ("we", "us", "our") for web design and development services, you agree to the following terms.
1. Services
We provide custom website design, development, SEO optimisation, and related digital services as agreed in writing with each client. The scope of work, timeline, and pricing will be outlined in a project proposal or agreement before work begins.
2. Project process
Our standard process includes:
- Initial consultation to understand your requirements
- Design and development of your website
- Review and revision period (typically two rounds of revisions)
- Final delivery and launch
Additional revisions beyond the agreed scope may incur extra charges.
3. Payment
Payment terms are agreed before work commences. Typically:
- A deposit is required to begin work (usually 50% of the project total)
- The remaining balance is due upon completion, before the site goes live
- Ongoing maintenance and hosting fees (if applicable) are billed separately
4. Intellectual property
Upon full payment, you own the content, images, and branding on your website. We retain ownership of any custom code, frameworks, or templates we develop, granting you a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use them on your site. Third-party assets (fonts, icons, libraries) remain subject to their respective licences.
5. Limitation of liability
We build websites to the best of our ability and in line with current web standards. However:
- We cannot guarantee specific search engine rankings, although we build every site with SEO best practices
- We are not liable for issues caused by third-party services (hosting providers, domain registrars, plugins)
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the content you provide
6. Website hosting and maintenance
Unless separately agreed, we are not responsible for ongoing hosting, maintenance, or updates after the site has been launched and final payment received. Maintenance packages are available separately.
7. Cancellation
Either party may cancel the project with written notice. If you cancel, the deposit is non-refundable and you will be invoiced for work completed up to the cancellation date. If we cancel other than for breach by you, any unearned portion of your deposit will be refunded.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
